Closure Work for Kindergarten (see downloads below)
Week 1
Reading
- Read your books daily
- Jolly Phonics – revise all letter sounds especially your digraphs
- Practise your word box or spellings if you have them
Writing
- One piece of writing, choose from the following;
- o Write about your favourite day, at least 3 sentences, include a picture or drawing
- o Re write your favourite story (as much as you can) for example ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. Use good story language (Once upon a time, suddenly etc.) and draw a picture if you wish
- o Make up your own story about a ‘little red robot’ or a ‘pretty pink dolly’
Maths
- Number formation – trace over the numbers to 10 making sure you start ‘AT THE TOP’.
- Complete the ‘Elephant patterns’ sheet colour with care taking pride in your work.
- Count to 100
Art
- Collect some natural materials and make a collage. Look at the artist Andy Goldsworthy’s work.
Week 2

- Read your books daily

- Practise your word box or spellings if you have them
Writing
- One piece of writing, choose from the following;
- o Write about your favourite day, at least 3 sentences, include a picture or drawing
- o Re write your favourite story (as much as you can) for example ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Use good story language (Early one morning, next, then, meanwhile etc.) and draw a picture if you wish
- o Make up your own story about a ‘squeaky mouse’ or a ‘barking dog’
Maths
- Number formation – practice writing numbers to 20 correctly or more
- Complete the ‘Number patterns’ sheet colour with care taking pride in your work
- Count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s
Art
- Draw something you can see (flowers, your garden etc) Look at Vincent Van Gogh’s work
